The Air Conditioning Technology HVACR Program uses the ANGEL Learning Management System through GVTC so that students are able to go online and take all of their tests and download syllabi, lab sheets, information sheets, and a verity of other documents. All ACT Classes are offered as hybrid and the IFC-100 class is fully online at Altamaha Tech. The Air Conditioning Technology Diploma program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in the air conditioning industry. Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of air conditioning theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an Air Conditioning Technology diploma and have the qualifications of an air conditioning technician.

James R. Tankersley joined Altamaha Technical College as an instructor in 2004. He served 21 years in the United States Army. James attended Altamaha Technical College and received an Air Conditioning Repair Certificate, Air Conditioning Technology Diploma, and |

Technical Studies Air Conditioning Technology. He is a graduate of Ferris State University with a degree in HVACR Engineering Technology. He is a certified Master HVACR Educator, EPA Certified Universal, R-410A Certified and holds a Non Restricted Conditioned Air License. |

Chad Swanson joined Altamaha Technical College as a Business Office Technology Instructor in 2002. He is a graduate of Valdosta State University and holds a Master’s of Business Administration Degree with emphasis on Information |

Technology. He was the Rick Perkins award winner in 2006. Chad became the Online Coordinator last year and says: “Online education is continuing to grow at an unbelievable rate. It has helped so many students receive an education who otherwise may not be able to do so.” |

Johnny L. Satterwhite is taking advantage of online classes in Air Condition Technology. Johnny says: “I like the online classes because they allow me to manage time between school work and personal business.” Johnny further states that he enjoys his career path: “I chose Air Condition Technology |

because it is a challenging field and also a career that is in demand. After I graduate, I plan on working for one of the local businesses for at least two years and then own my own business.” Johnny was chosen to be in the Student Spotlight by his instructor, James R. Tankersley. |
