SPECIAL ISSUE: Not Your Usual 9 to 5 Jobs

the e-newsletter for online technical education

We've revamped GVTC's website! Check out  our new look at www.gvtc.org!

Debbie Dlugolenski, President

One of the great things about technical education is that it gives so many choices and lets YOU decide what career best suits your lifestyle.  There is no “one size fits all” notion.

We at GVTC recognize that and not only provide the opportunity for you to study anytime and anyplace, but we also deliver a wide spectrum of career options which allow those who “march to the beat of a different drum” to take charge of their own destinies and find rewarding, well-paying, and satisfying careers.

This issue of Velocity focuses on some very different occupations, all which can be completed totally online.  They are not your usual 9 to 5 office jobs. Featured programs are: Environmental Horticulture
Gwinnett Technical College
Pulp, Paper and Recycling
Altamaha Technical College
Opticianry
DeKalb Technical College
Metrology
Central Georgia Technical College

Other interesting and informative articles include a segment on the Online Library, an amusing online Student Success Story (getting her degree was easier than a trip to Wal-Mart), and a Special GVTC Summit 2001 Wrap-Up section.

We hope you enjoy this issue.
